What causes shedding?

Modified on Wed, 22 Jul at 10:17 AM

Both internal and external oxidative stress can increase hair shedding by pushing follicles out of their active growth phase too early and into catagen (the regression phase) and then telogen (the maintenance/resting phase). During telogen, enzymes called proteases begin breaking down the proteins that anchor the hair fibre inside the follicle, which eventually leads to shedding.

Proprietary MultiVital™ technology works by intercepting these proteases, helping the hair remain anchored in the follicle for longer. This extends retention of the existing hair fibre while allowing the next, already-growing fibre in the new hair cycle to continue developing.
